You wouldn’t say it from looking at it, but the Carrera by TAG Heuer is celebrating its 55th anniversary this year. The watch is, however, more current than ever and ranks among the most popular models from TAG Heuer. To mark the occasion the brand decided to do something very special.

The Carrera Chronograph Tourbillon Chronometer “Tête de Vipère” combines a flying tourbillon with a chronograph complication. This movement is housed in a contemporary case made out of blue ceramic. The modern look is continued through the strap as well, combining black alligator leather with a matte finish with blue stitching.

While this all combined already makes for an exceptional watch, TAG Heuer takes it a step further. This Carrera carries the prestigious “Tête de Vipère” certification from the observatory of Besançon, France. Unlike the Swiss COSC, they test the watches cased and do so for 16 days, in which the watch is monitored in five different positions at three different temperatures. Only 500 watches have been able to obtain this prestigious certification since 2006, which will now be joined by the 155 Carreras.

When we started publishing our first high-end watch magazine in 1999, we had only one intention: increasing the popularity of high-quality mechanical watches. Now, many years later, this has not changed at all. In 2017 we have reinvented ourselves to serve our readers in a different and better way. Starting in 2017, the new 0024 is again better equipped to interact with the changing world of high-end watches. The new 0024 HORLOGES magazine (written in Dutch) will be at least a 200 pager: that’s twice the volume of our magazine in the old days.
