After being bought up in 2013, Anonimo is now pursuing new lines of development in Switzerland. The collectionhas been reworked to bring out more of cohesion, and its manufacture now meets Swiss Made criteria. So Anonimo watches are now a combination of Swiss precision and Italian style. The watches are characterized by a stringent, elaborate yet functional design, heavily influenced by professional watches that used to be produced on the banks of the Arno for submariners and combat divers from the Marina Militare. The dials are free from irrelevant details, in order to remain legible under all circumstances.
Jürgen Jürgensen is the undisputed king and godfather of watchmaking in Denmark. In 1798 for instance he travelled to Paris to study with Abraham-Louis Breguet, in 1801 he built a remarkable bimetallic thermometer and after that he started to create very precise chronometers. The Jürgensen watch dynasty ended in 1912 with the death of the last Jürgensen but the company stayed alive and went abroad to Switzerland. In 2014 the ownership returned to Danish hands and with CEO Søren J. Petersen at the helm Urban Jürgensen moves into the future.
A 50th birthday has to be celebrated with an unforgettable party. For celebrating Krons 50-year anniversary, all the needed ingredients were there: a dj for good music, champagne to toast with, balloons, bright shining diamonds and – last but not least – family, friends, staff, partners and clients to celebrate with. Over 150 invitees where present at the galleria (PK-Huset) to celebrate the anniversary.
After announcing its support of motorcycle racing, watch brand Anonimo is reinforcing its link with Leopard Racing. Now the TCR International Series teams will also be sporting the watch brand's colours. A Franco-Swiss driving duo is now getting ready for next race this Sunday in internationally renown Sochi. Anonimo watches combine rugged Italian sports-chic with sharp and functional design. The dials are a model of understatement, free from any irrelevant details to ensure they remain legible under all circumstances. Like at the wheel of a racing car driving at top speed.
After the success of the Heritage Chronométrie collection at the last SIHH Montblanc adds two new models. One is this annual calendar based on one of the first Minerva chronographs from the 1920s. For the laymen among you: the renowned Minerva manufacture in Villeret has been in Montblanc hands for many years. It is the first time in this line that Montblanc combines an annual calendar with a chronograph.
The Genevan based independent maison with Dutch roots, Frederique Constant, is now a Genevan based brand of the Citizen Watch Co. The sporty brand Alpina and the high-end and very limited creations of Ateliers DeMonaco are also in Japanese hands now. Frederique Constant Holding was founded in 1988 by Peter and Aletta Stas. The company produces traditional timepieces at an affordable price level and became very successful with that strategy.
The Slim d’Hermès Mille Fleurs du Mexique is a watch like a hothouse plant. No, that description doesn't do justice to the luscious floral design on the mother-of-pearl dial of this watch. This miniature artwork was inspired by a Hermès scarf designed by Mexican graphic designer Laetitia Bianchi.
Tony Frank and Mikael Wallhagen, experts in everything to do with watches, were lured away from Kaplans to become the new watch experts at Bukowskis. In the spring they will be building the department with a view to becoming an important player in this field. The idea for the move arose during the recording of last season's popular TV programme Antikrundan (comparable to the Antiques Roadshow in the UK), in which Mikael values watches.
The new Hamilton Ventura Elvis80 is a must-have for anyone with an eye for authentic legends. Elvis is a legend and therefore the watch he wore is too. Elvis Presley was way ahead of his time. He shook his hips and by doing that the world. The remarkable Hamilton Ventura with its shield like appearance was also quite a shock in the conservative world of horology. Elvis wore a Ventura in de 1961 movie “Blue Hawaii” resulting in maximum exposure for the unusually shaped model that was first launched in 1957.
Seiko announced that they are the official partner of the Professional Association of Diving Instructors (PADI). The watch brand celebrates this partnership with two Prospex PADI Special Editions. These two special editions are based on the Seiko divers in the SUN and SRPA collections.
Building rugged watches without testing them in the great outdoors is silly when you think about it. Ball Watch has the same idea and therefore mountaineer Hervé Barmasse is the brand’s latest ambassador who wears his Ball Watch wherever he ventures. Currently, Hervè is the only climber who has conquered the 1,500 meters to the south wall of the Matterhorn alone, and the only person in the world that has established a new route for this purpose. He has conquered routes considered impossible: Beka Brakay Chhok in Pakistan (6.970 meters), and the granite walls of Cerro Piergiorgio in Patagonia.
